Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) is an age-related condition caused by acquired genetic variants in blood-forming stem cells. Although CHIP is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, whether it also increases cancer therapy–related cardiotoxicity remains uncertain. We discuss the largest study to date examining the association between CHIP and cardiovascular events during intensive chemotherapy.
