Dr. Amir Kaki is the Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support and Complex PCI at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI. He is also an Associate Director of Interventional Cardiology at St John and an Associate Prof of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Kaki previously held the position of both Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the DMC Heart Hospital and Co-Program Director of the CHIP (complex high risk procedures) fellowship. Dr. Kaki arrived in Detroit in 2012 from New York City where he was Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Greenberg Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical School/New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Kaki’s area of expertise includes complex coronary intervention, chronic total occlusions, transradial intervention, and carotid artery stenting. Dr. Kaki’s clinical research activities have been published in peer reviewed journals and he is frequently a speaker at numerous national and international meetings. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Endovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Vascular Medicine.
