Sagar Patel

Sagar A. Patel, MD, is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology and Urology specializing in the treatment of genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. He completed his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, residency training at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program, and fellowship training (focusing on prostate brachytherapy) at UCLA. He received a Master of Science in Clinical Research at Emory University. Dr. Patel's primary research interest focuses on predicting and mitigating toxicity from hormone therapy in men with prostate cancer. He is principal investigator on randomized clinical trials, including the REVELUTION-1 and -2 trials, assessing coronary plaque progression and toxicity after novel hormone therapy drugs in combination with radiation therapy for men with prostate cancer. His research is supported by the Prostate Cancer Foundation, National Comprehensive Cancer Network, Pfizer Inc, and Sumitomo Pharma America Inc.
