Dr. Matthias Bossard (born in Switzerland) is a Swiss cardiologist, specialized in interventional cardiologist. He currently holds a position as a senior consultant, head of CTO- and CHIP-PCI Programm and head of clinical research, at the Heart Center of the Luzerner Kantonsspital in Lucerne, Switzerland. He completed his medical studies at the University of Bern and subsequently obtained USMLE certification, board certifications in Internal Medicine (2015) and Cardiology (2018). His advanced training includes a postgraduate program in clinical research and interventional cardiology at McMaster University in Canada and research fellowships focusing on cardiovascular risk factors and atrial fibrillation at the University of Basel in Switzerland. Dr. Bossard has held clinical roles in internal medicine, intensive care, and cardiology at leading Swiss institutions, including the Zuger Kantonsspital, and the University Hospital of Basel. Since 2017, he has served as Senior Consultant in Cardiology in Lucerne and, since 2019, has taught as a clinical lecturer at the University of Basel, and the University of Lucerne. He received his habilitation from the University of Lucerne in 2023.
